I was extremely pleased with the design and build services, as provided by owner, Bill Moore, his in house architect, Levon, and field superintendent, Tom, on this project. The overall quality, workmanship, finishes, choice of subcontractors, and overall, finished home exceeded our expectations.

The desired aesthetics (modern farmhouse) and use of high-performance building materials (HVAC, lighting, etc.) were met.

Mr. Moore and his associates exceeded our expectations throughout the construction of our house. We would present an idea or change and Mr. Moore’s experience and knowledge base helped us incorporate our ideas into the house design and construction. For example, we added an apartment to the backside of our house requiring a complete redesign of the kitchen and adding a passageway to the apartment. Mr. Moore and his design team took our idea and developed new plans without adding construction materials or time.

Mr. Moore put together a terrific construction team consisting of myriad local contractors while incorporating and accommodating contractors from other locals. Again, an example is the installation of 24 solar panels. Mr. Moore and his design team worked with local, state, and federal agencies to purchase and install our panels. In addition, his team worked with federal and stated officials ensuring we would receive any and all subsidies available at the time.

Bill Moore both designed and built our home in the Mad River Valley. We had been looking for someone to build a home for our family and friends to come together to share special times. A friend suggested we talk to Bill Moore.

From the first meeting Bill took the time to get to know us and understand how we wanted to live in the house. He was able to sift through the reams of ideas and photos we brought to him and add his own creative design skills to meld his ideas with ours perfectly.

Mr. Moore is a very accomplished design/builder and remodeler. He took a small, over 100 year old dark home and brightened it up and made it very warm and cozy. By designing a gable roof with a clear story he was able to bring in a lot of light and change the whole appearance of the inside. In addition he eliminated a few interior walls to make the house more spacious. He is very imaginative and creative and an excellent craftsman. Moore Design Builders came in to my 1850s school house home and created a bathroom with a dormer and built a garage. They showed up EVERY day while they were working on the house. The job site was neat and picked up at the end of every work day. The people doing the work were respectful and considerate of the fact I was living in the house. The work they did has held up well. They were over budget, and then again, I asked them to do more a few more things than we originally planned so who's to say. They also have been most accommodating in helping me make repairs to my house since the initial project. They show up when they say they will and always do excellent work. We encountered Moore Design Builders from verbal references from people we know in the Central Vermont area. We live in Vermont.

When we purchased our home, we knew it would require some significant upgrading, specifically a three season room, deck and patio. This work would frame the magnificent views we had of the surrounding valley and hills. When we were ready, we called Bill Moore. Bill came to our home; we sat very comfortably at the kitchen table and outlined what we wanted. Bill suggested some materials to read and review pictures on some finer points and departed. We got back together a few weeks’ later and made decisions. Within a few weeks we were working on draft level drawings including to scale color simulations, etc. We could “see” what it would look like. Impressive. We made decisions and started.
My wife and I are extremely pleased with the outcome; it has transformed our home, increased the value and provided countless hours of peaceful relaxation. We have since had Moore Design Builders back to redesign the front look of the house with bay windows, pillars and garage doors. Finally, a home office and the walk out basement “man cave” built with new windows, solid maple hardwoods doors and cabinets has established a place of respite throughout the year.
