Welcome to the Build Doctors, where we do the work. Many general contractors are organizers only, hiring out all the work as subjobs to whomever is handy. That is not us! We do nearly all the work and supervise qualified subcontractors to produce a truly professional finished product.

Prior to becoming a general contractor Tom worked in construction or the trades for 8 years but was often frustrated with having to work around the sloppy jobs of others who did not care as long as they got paid. His inspiration is to personally "own" every job, to have all responsibilities so he can make sure that it is done right. He would rather create than fix.

Precision Craft Construction, owned and operated by Tom Naylor in Fremont, CA, recently did a major remodel of our master bathroom. The work went smoothly. Tom did most of the work himself with the help of a few subcontractors, although there was a delay with one subcontractor. That subcontractor's work turned out very well in the end, though. We hired Tom to redesign and rebuild our termite- and water-damaged roof and balconies and interior ceiling in our townhouse. He shows an incredible attention to detail and building for long term durability. Unlike other contractors, he did not give us an unrealistic lowball bid and then, after the contract is signed and work has begun, ''find'' problems and use that excuse to increase the project costs. With Tom, the quoted price is the price. Tom explains everything as the work progresses and there are no surprises. Tom is the one who will actually be there doing the work.
