After settling the EQC process our insurance company recommended we use Urban Construction for the house repair and we are pleased we did.
In a series of meetings with them everything was agreed in advance including the scope of works, the quoting, the time frames and how the project was to be managed. This was particularly important as I was based in the North Island managing the paperwork for my parents, both who were in their 90’s and wanted to continue living in their house of 60+ years after work was completed.
Urban and the site project manager kept me fully informed throughout the rebuild – with weekly reports – and the onsite team was extremely focused. I had clear timelines for providing external and internal colour schemes and other decisions around cladding and roof replacements.
Through Urban we also had a wonderful team of painters, who worked with me on colour schemes – not an easy task when I couldn’t actually see what the colours looked like on the walls etc. This team did so much more than just painting; helping co-ordinate other requirements for the house like bench tops, bathroom fitting and carpets. They even turned up on site when the curtain company needed access and I was unavailable.
The rebuild was substantial and took approximately 6 months. Without the support and professionalism of Urban Construction and their recommended trades it would not have been possible. They went above and beyond the expectations of a construction team to ensure the house was completed to a high standard.
